A WORD FOR YOU TO CONSIDER AND PRAY ABOUT

“Don’t Forget the Lord Who brought You Out”

Deu 6:1 The LORD your God has directed me to teach you his commands, rules and laws. Obey them in the land you will take over when you go across the Jordan River. Deu 6:2 Then you, your children and their children after them will have respect for the LORD your God as long as you live. Keep all of his rules and commands I'm giving you. If you do, you will enjoy long life. Deu 6:3 Israel, listen to me. Make sure you obey me. Then things will go well with you. Your numbers will increase greatly in a land that has plenty of milk and honey. That's what the LORD, the God of your parents, promised you. Deu 6:4 Israel, listen to me. The LORD is our God. The LORD is the one and only God. Deu 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your strength. Deu 6:6 The commandments I give you today must be in your hearts. Deu 6:7 Make sure your children learn them. Talk about them when you are at home. Talk about them when you walk along the road. Speak about them when you go to bed. And speak about them when you get up. Deu 6:8 Write them down and tie them on your hands as a reminder. Also tie them on your foreheads. Deu 6:9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses. Also write them on your gates. Deu 6:10 The LORD your God will bring you into the land of Canaan. He took an oath. He promised he would give the land to your fathers. He promised it to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The land has large, wealthy cities you didn't build. Deu 6:11 It has houses that are filled with all kinds of good things you didn't provide. It has wells you didn't dig. And it has vineyards and groves of olive trees you didn't plant. You will have plenty to eat. Deu 6:12 But be careful that you don't forget the LORD. Remember that he brought you out of Egypt. That's the land where you were slaves. (NIRV)

Our scripture reading for today is a little lengthy, but necessary. Sometimes, my beloved, we forget what God did for us the last time and lose faith in HIM for the next trail that comes our way. It may seem a little old fashioned to write the scriptures on our door frames and on our gates and hands as suggested in the above scriptures, however, if that is the only way that you can remind yourself of God’s faithfulness, then do so. We should hide HIS word in our heart, but, that my friend takes relationship and time. For some of us we have developed neither. We say that our lives are full with work, family, and ministry and so on, while that is true, we lack the most important relationship that we need which is one with our Heavenly Father. If you are facing what seems to be an insurmountable situation or circumstance at this time in your life take a Jesus break and reflect on the last one and remember how God brought you through it. HE is the same GOD, HE fails not, HE did not fail then and HE will not fail now or ever. Life happens, children may walk out of our lives never to return again, a loved one or parent or child dies, you lose your job, home, car and other possessions – but God is still faithful and well able to do abundantly more than we can ask or think. It is indeed our prayer that you are not experiencing any of those devastating circumstances at this time in your life; however, if by chance you are remember that God already has a way of escape. He loves you enough to allow you to go through it, but, the key word here is through it – remember it came, but it came to pass. Although it may not seem like it is working for our good, it is. This too shall pass. You stay encouraged my beloved and remember who brought you OUT!!. Until next time, Make it a Blessed Week.
